Together, we have made a positive impact in bringing an end to the global water
Why Do We Walk?
We Walk in honor of those who walk to collect water every single day.
We Walk to raise awareness of the global water crisis and funds that support solutions.
We Walk so that one day everyone will have safe water close to home.
All proceeds from this walk are donated to Water Mission.
For the 4th consecutive year, Burt Process has partnered with Water Mission, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Charleston. SC. They are a highly reputable and progressive organization that has received a 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator every year for the past 15 years. Their mission is to reach as many people as possible to provide safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions that save lives. For over 20 years, Water Mission has been pioneering the use of new technologies to bring engineered safe water systems to rural communities and disaster relief areas around the globe.
As an example, Water Mission partnered with UNICEF to author a new Solar-Powered Water Systems that provides detailed instructions for implementing and commissioning solar powered water systems in rural contexts. Burt Process is proud to support this best-in-class organization with our Water Walk this year. This is how we can finally bring an end to the global water crisis.
The 2020 Burt Process Virtual Walk for Water involved 106 walkers from 14 different states and 24 towns across the country.
2019 Walk for Water
The first annual Burt Process Walk for Water held on October 26, 2019, raised $10,000 for Water Mission, a non-profit organization that provides engineered water solutions to remote communities and disaster relief regions who are in desperate need of clean water.
Our main goal of working with Water Mission is to increase the access to safe water and sanitation solutions. Building a system and completing a successful project aside from basic health provides time for more progressive work, optimized education, improved health and increased productivity throughout the community.
Our donation directly supported Water Mission’s team in Kenya as they responded to the West Pokot landslide disaster that occurred late November 2019. This catastrophe had displaced 80,000 people and tragically took the lives of 50. Water Mission's team was able to make a well-timed response to the situation and quickly provide supplies, hygiene kits, safe water, and other necessities that are essential to life needed by the families and communities that were left in distress.
