Burt Process • In The Community
Centered on the core values established in 1970 on People, Quality of Life and Stability, Burt Process remains active in the local community, helping those in need through charitable contributions, working with schools to educate youth, and providing opportunity to new talent entering the workforce from college and places abroad. With the cooperation of our Partner Suppliers, BPE has made significant contributions to local charities and participated in community outreach events. We encourage our valued customers and suppliers to get involved as a sponsor or participant in continuing this tradition.
BPE Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Benefitting the Connecticut Children's Medical Center since 1994
In 1994 a dozen Burt Process Equipment personnel from the Manufacturing and Engineering departments got together to play what would be the first annual Burt Process Golf Tournament. For the first five years it was strictly an annual BPE employee outing, with a couple employee friends by special invitation. In 2000 several Vendors attended, along with a single Customer.
Within two years the tournament had grown to include 60 employees, vendors and customers. Formal sponsorships were introduced and the event took off. In 2003 the event became a fundraiser as well, with a donation of $1,200 being made to the Saint Raphael Foundation. The event continues to grow and evolve from year to year, and we have been proudly hosting over 120 golfers each year since 2011. In 2014 we introduced the BurtGolf.net website to provide information to our golfers, share photos of past events, and provide greater visibility to our event sponsors.
Burt Process Equipment has a long history of supporting charitable endeavors whose services benefit the health and well-being of children, with donations to organizations including Toys for Tots, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Feed the Children Inc. and Bikes for Kids. Since 2006 we have raised funds for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center at our Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser, with over $60,000 being donated to date. In 2018 we had a record fundraising year resulting in a $12,000 donation to the foundation.
There will be ample opportunities to help raise funds for the CT Children's Medical Center during the tournament, including a prize raffle, 50/50 raffle, Mulligan Sales and Buy the Drive Contest. Any participant that wishes to make a monetary or prize donation for the raffle is welcomed to do so.
