Compliance with the 2020 IMO regulations requires that vessels either use expensive fuel with low sulfur content or clean the exhaust gases by using exhaust scrubbing systems.
The Grundfos CRT series vertical, multi-stage centrifugal pumps are designed to meet the needs of Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems, accommodating both open-loop and closed-loop scrubber configurations. The pumps used in these systems are typically designed to handle the circulation of the scrubbing liquid (usually seawater or freshwater mixed with alkali) and ensure the efficient removal of sulfur oxides and other pollutants from the exhaust gases.
Fetures & Benefits
The CRT and CRTE pumps are non-self-priming, vertical multistage centrifugal pumps. Titanium has exceptional resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalis, seawater, and industrial chemicals.
Magnetic drive pumps are needed in scrubber systems to circulate the gas-liquid through the recycling process and treatment system. March centrifugal mag drive pumps can handle mildly to highly corrosive acids and solvents, like sodium chloride, hydrogen peroxide, and sulfuric acid.
