aro EXP Series AIR-OPERATED DOUBLE DIAPHRAGM PUMP (AAOD)
case study

By ARO and Burt Process

Ceramic_application

Industry: Ceramic Tile Manufacturing

Customer's Application: Ceramic Slurry with Abrasive Larger Solids

Country: Czech Republic

BEFORE:
THE APPLICATION

The end-user is a manufacturer of wall & floor tiles. The customer uses a pump to transfer ceramic slurry with a high content of large abrasive solids at various flow rates up to 5 bar. Due to the size of the solids, a regular ball-check AODD pump often stalls. For this reason, the end-user began to consider using an electric hose pump. Unfortunately, the electric pump solution was not compatible with the customer's budget, and the end-user was not familiar with electric pump designs.

AFTER:
THE ARO® SOLUTION

The ARO® distributor proposed using an EXP Series Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pump (AODD), also referred to as a Flap Valve Pump.

PRODUCT SOLUTION PF20A-BAP-SAAB

THE ARO® ADVANTAGE

  • Compared to an electric pump, the AODD pump is easier to install with a smaller footprint, at a better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Flap Valve pumps are designed to handle materials that are stringy, fibrous, large solids (suspended or non-suspended), abrasive, slurries, and other applications less suited for ball check style pumps.
  • ARO® AODD pumps are useful for feeding filter presses, waste treatment, dewatering, filled material transfer, and a variety of other demanding applications.
  • ARO® Diaphragm pumps offer reliability. Compared to many competitive models, the ARO® unbalanced air valve will always start, making the pump un-stallable. No need for a hammer or to cut the air supply. No reset button or magnetic valve.
  • ARO® is the most respected brand, with a worldwide network of reliable expert distributors.
