The end-user is a mobile canning operation that packages craft brews for microbreweries and regional craft breweries. With their old electric-powered centrifugal pump, they fill up to 120 cases of beer per hour. Since the old pump required operation on a continuous cycle, if production had to be stopped, the impeller would continue to spin. Due to this constant pumping, the temperature of the liquid was increased and more oxygen was introduced to the beer which resulted in foam and a change in flavor.
The ARO FDA-compliant SD pump is designed to transfer fluid for the food & beverage industry efficiently and safely. This sanitary pump provided the user with a 10-15% increase in production capacity, allowing them to now fill 160 cases per hour. Since these pumps generally yield 20-30% better flow rates than other products, the shelf life of the beer is extended and the flavor of each brew is maintained.
