PRODUCTS PURPOSE

Battery recycling is a multistep process requiring safe conditions to handle volatile materials. In a controlled environment end-of-life batteries are put on a conveyor belt to a tower where an industrial shredder is submerged in proprietary liquid. The shredding process of the tower breaks apart plastic interiors that hold modules containing lithium, cobalt and nickel. After the batteries are ground up, they go from a charge state into a completely inert state. Next, the liquid slurry stream is sent on to vibration to remove plastic materials leaving liquid black mass.

Next a machine will vibration / shredding of bulk material, once material is broken down the next is separation. The separation process which uses filter press to collect a dewatered black mass powder. Its this powder which is further rendered to reclaim raw cobalt, nickel and lithium.

THE ARo evo series solution

AODD pump have a long successful history in filter press applications. A filter press requires a pump that can pump liquid slurries or solid laden fluids. In addition, press require a pump which can delivery pressure at 120 psi order higher. The AODD pump has a unique capability to stall at an equalized air inlet pressure to fluid discharge pressure. Allowing operators freedom from investing in additional controls, automation and instrumentation. The EVO electric diaphragm pump provide our client a single solution unmatched with competing technologies. An EVO EP20 2” pump (model EP20-PFSAA-CSV-ACA) was selected to meet flow requirement, PP construction was used for corrosion resistance, and the general pumping technology allows for the passing of solids, provide a suction lift and run dry without damage. In addition, the EVO included the self stalling design feature like a traditional AODD pump, but with drastically lower annual energy consumption rate.
