Customer's Application: Copper Recovery & Water Purification
THE APPLICATION
The customer implemented an Electric Coagulation Filter System to recover copper from stripped copper wires and purify the resulting process water. The system operates using electricity to separate copper from the water, which is then discharged into a manufactured pond. The setup uses a 2” ARO EVO electric pump designed to handle a flow rate between 80–90 GPM at a TDH of 174 ft, with construction materials specified for durability and chemical compatibility (316 stainless steel and PTFE diaphragm).
THE ARo evo series solution
The customer purchased one ARO EVO pump (model EP20-SFSTT-CSV-ACA) as part of a proof-of-concept (POC) project. The system is housed in a mobile shipping container to allow deployment at various locations. In performance comparisons, the ARO EVO outperformed the competing Graco Quantm i120, particularly in handling the required flow and TDH. This success demonstrates the viability of using electric coagulation for mobile copper recovery and water purification applications.
