Gear pumps operate as positive displacement pumps, meaning that with each shaft revolution, they displace a fixed quantity of liquid, and this displacement is relatively unaffected by the backpressure in the discharge line. There is a direct and proportional relationship between the shaft speed and the flow rate.
The pump components, including the housing and gears, are crafted from high-quality bronze, while the shafts are constructed from 303 stainless steel. The bearings are specifically designed using a high-performance carbon-graphite material, chosen for its wear resistance and extended service life.
Recommended pressure limits are 100 PSI for applications involving water and non-lubricants, and 150 PSI for oil and other lubricants. The maximum allowable shaft speed is 1750 RPM. Close-coupled gear pumps are usually supplied with a standard Nitrile lip seal. An alternative lip seal made of fluoroelastomer can be provided as an option by adding S5 to the pump model number.
Key Features:
Sturdy and corrosion-resistant bronze construction
Compact close-coupled design
Stainless steel shafts
Durable bronze spur gears
Carbon graphite bearings lubricated during the process
O-ring cover seal for maximum leak protection
Standard Nitrile Lip Seal
Easy assembly in the field to fit various motor frames
For typical DC motor pump units, refer to the N991-32 DC model
For compact AC motor pump units, consult the Close Coupled Bronze Adapterless Rotary Gear Pumps
For bronze pedestal pumps and mechanical seal styles, see model N1000
