What Is Neutralization?

In a pH neutralization reaction, acidic and base solutions react, combining H+ and OH- ions to form water and salt. When a strong acid is combined with a strong base, the neutralized solution will have a pH of 7. A pH neutralization example would be a mixture of hydrochloric acid (HCI) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also known as lye. This would result in table salt (NaCl) and water.

About the pH Plus Family of Neutralization Systems

Burt Process Equipment’s pH Plus neutralization system offers state-of-the-art pH monitoring and control. Its advanced design is based on more than forty years of fluid handling expertise. These completely integrated, pre-packaged systems provide automatic acid neutralization of wastewater in industrial environments, using pH adjustment chemicals. Standard features include corrosion-resistant, extremely durable components in enclosures, exceptional performance and reliability, an easy-to-use interface, and compact size. They can handle various flow rates within a pH range of 2 to 12. The PHX-100, PHX-200, PHX-300, PHX-400, and PHX-500 models differ in terms of continuous flow capacity (maximum GPM), mix tank volume, and reagent pumps capacity (GPH).
