Centrifugal Pumps

A centrifugal pump is the most frequently used pump type. They’re designed for pumping fluids with a lower viscosity at lower pressures. These fluid pumps are typically used with liquids that have a low solids content. Centrifugal pumps can be powered by an electric motor or an engine.

Diaphragm Pumps

Also known as a membrane pump, a diaphragm pump is a type of positive displacement pump. These self-priming pumps can be used with clean water, slurries, caustic chemicals, acids and various viscous liquids. They have a simple design and are easy to operate.

Drum/Barrel Pumps

Drum pumps (also known as barrel pumps) are portable pumps that are used to empty drums, barrels, tanks and other containers. They’re a safe and easy way to transfer a chemical from a barrel or drum. As it is difficult and dangerous to tip heavy containers to pour out fluids, these types of pumps are widely used in processing and manufacturing facilities.

Fuel Powered Pumps

Engine driven, fuel powered high pressure pumps are designed for firefighting, emergency water supply and pressure boosting, agricultural spraying, lawn sprinkling and dewatering applications. Engine driven trash pumps are made to effectively handle solids and to provide high flow efficiency.

Gear Pumps

Common uses for gear pumps include the pumping of high viscosity fluid like paints, foodstuffs, oils and resins. They’re also used in applications that require a high-pressure output or a precise flow rate.

Manual Hand Pumps

Manual hand pumps are the most basic type of pump and are a low-cost option for pumping and dispensing liquids that do not contain any debris or solids. Hand piston drum and diaphragm pumps are available in different materials.

Fluid Metering Pumps

These pumps are commonly used to blend liquids in food processing facilities, for wastewater treatment, to move liquid natural gas and oil in pipelines and for moving chemicals in industrial processes.

Peristaltic Pumps

Peristaltic pumps can be used to pump many kinds of fluids, from sterile/clean liquids to aggressive fluids, without risking contamination from exposure to pump components. They can be used with an infusion device to pump IV fluids, or for pumping high solids slurries and aggressive chemicals. Peristaltic pumps are very useful when it’s critical to isolate a liquid from its environment. You’ll find these dispensing all kinds of materials, from cosmetics and pizza sauce to spray coats and adhesives.

Piston Pumps

Highly efficient, piston pumps can have a pressure rating up to 10,000 PSI. They can be hand operated or run by an engine. These pumps are frequently used for high-pressure hydraulic oil pumping, and in smaller equipment such as paint sprayers. Piston pumps offer better control than gear pumps, with various control options available.
