Burt Process • Breast Cancer Awareness
Burt Process Equipment is a proud supporter of the Get In Touch Foundation and is once again raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. Breast cancer will affect 1 in 8 women in the US. In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed. Employees at Burt Process make a donation for a pink bracelet or a tasty pink-themed snack throughout the month.
All proceeds go to the Get In Touch Foundation which is educating youth on breast cancer awareness and self-examination as early detection is critical and saves lives. On Friday, October 18th Burt Process Employees wear pink for “GIT Your Pink On Day” to show solidarity for the cause.
The Get In Touch Foundation strives to make breast self-examination simple, appropriate, and routine. The international “GIT Your Pink On!” Day (GYPOD) is the third Friday in October annually. Schools, businesses, organizations, etc. wear pink and donate one dollar or more to support the Get In Touch Foundation’s mission.

The Daisy Wheel
To date the foundation has distributed more than one million of the Daisy Wheels to students in grades 5-12 teaching the 8 simple steps of how to perform a breast self exam. In June of 2019, they made the exciting next step of launching a free “Daisy Wheel” app which makes now breast self exam free and accessible for all! Anyone is able to download on all Apple and Android devices for FREE in nine different languages.
